To supplement its order for 25 standard cab SD60s Without Sound in 1989, Conrail purchased 74 SD60Ms in 1992. All were delivered in the Conrail Quality paint scheme with the trademark can opener logo. They could be found in nearly any type of service, from intermodal, to unit coal trains, to Roadrailer service. They can still be seen operating today, albeit in the ownership of CSX & NS.
